I had had had had to show you my wonderful new shoes, as I was procrastinating the gym today waiting for spin class I headed into town and accidentally walked into Topshop whereupon I found these treasures
Although they might not have been my first choice of shoes, ive been after a really amazing pair of platform boots for a while but havent been able to find any that I like or not seen anyone wearing, anywho I turned these over to see the damage and was hugely hugely surprised to see that they had been reduced from £85 all the way down to a.... wait for it.... £15! WHAT!! I know I grabbed the nearest assistant quicker than I could put my card in the chip and pin and headed for the till, where the lovely young lady also reminded me that, yes, I am a student therefore could also have a further £1.50 off lowering the price to a wonderful and clap worthy £13.50!
I am so excited with these I plan to wear them religiously even in summer with florals and everything in my wardorbe, I particularly plan to wear them in New York in March! eeeeee!!
I was so excited with them I skipped all the way home!
Anyway onto more important things I thought I would now have a rant about 2 of my all time favourite designers after looking at the collections a while back. Luella and Betsey Johnson. Now these 2 amazing ladies are two designers I will be hugely channelling this summer along with at least one other friend who feels equally the same about them!
Here are just a few pictures from Luella's S/S 09 collection
As you can see, Luella has made a huge leap from her almost superhero inspired season from S/S 08 and although kept a kitsch, fresh and unique theme to her collection has concentrated on the opposing materials of floral chiffon and heavy tweed, mixing one shoulder dresses, with layers and frills all over the place with equally beautiful however seemingly more constructed tweed jackets and skirts for a tea and cakes with the parents look.
As Luella herself described the show itself, to wet the fashion crowd's appetite "THINK of a nice polite, knee-length dress you might find a rather mature royal wearing to a garden party, add three, mash them together, add an ample amount of sticky sweet confectionery colour, add a bit more, then look at it through psychedelic tinted glasses"
Summer cant be too long away now surely.......
And these are from Betsy Johnson's collection
With the idea of fashion either being a distraction or a distracting factor in our pockets at the moment, it came as no suprise as the ever genius Betsy came to our aid and gave us a collection filled with cupcakes, clowns and lunchboxes down the runway. Probably one of my favourite collections all season this cute and amazingly tailored collection of prom dresses and pirates gave so much inspiration im going to find it hard to choose in which direction to take.
So those are just a few of my favourite pictures from the collection and looks I will be sporting this summer, Im thinking cut off tshirts, in orange, electric blue and white with a variety of shorts and huge mini skirts and tutu's with huge heels and maybe even a flicker of lacy socks!
Comment me and tell me what your thinking of wearing this summer!
xoxo
